Hi Guys,
I have searched everywhere with no luck and this is sort of my last
resort. I installed Solaris 9 on a ultra5 that I have just purchased. I
added the gcc package successfully from sunfreeware.com. I am trying to
configure a package manually from source but get the following error when
I try to run ./configure:
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot
create executables.
Not sure why I am getting this error.
# gcc
gcc: no input files
#
gcc seems to be working fine but cannot create the executable for some
reason. I have jumpstarted this server since the cdrom was defective and
it could be that it is missing some neccessary packages but I have tried
to install all the libraries from sunfreeware wihout any luck though. Any
help would be grately appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Simran H.
