Just need a confirmation I'm going about this the right way:
I'm installing a Sun D2 storage array to be shared between two SunFire
280R systems which will be running Sun Cluster 3.0
Each 280R is running Solaris 8 and has two dual-port PCI SCSI Ultra-3
cards. The SCSI cables run from the first port on each SCSI card, one goes
to one ESM, and the other going to the second ESM. The same configuration
on the second 280R goes to the other SCSI ports on each ESM.
Or would it make any difference to run port 1 on the first SCSI card to
one ESM and the second port to the other ESM, thus freeing up a PCI card
in each machine?
Since the scsi-initiator-id on both systems defaults to 7, one obviously
must be changed ( to 6 presumably).
I have to set the scsi-initiator-id on the first node globally to 6, then
the local devices back to 7 on that host using the nvramrc script as
detailed in the "Sun Cluster 3.X with Sun StorEdge D2 Array" manual.
After that, is a reconfiguration boot all that's necessary when starting
the OS on each node?
