Third-Party FC-AL disk in SunBlade 2000?

Hello everyone,

I am the lucky owner of a SunBlade 2000 at home. I've been offered a few
brand new disk drives from Hitachi (I'd put two in my sb2k). They're
Hitachi DK32EJ-14FC (146.8Gb disk drives). Ref:
http://www.hgst.com/hdd/support/dk/3/32ej14spec.html
Sun appears to list those very same drives (most likely in their Storedge
9XXX arrays, I guess):
http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_private/Devices/Disk/DISK_Htchi_DK32EJ_14FC.html

Does anyone know if this has a chance to work? I know that for all-SCSI
machines it's pretty easy to get third-party drives working in
more-or-less recent Sun Ultra workstations (I've used Quantum, COMPAQ,
etc.. drives in Ultra1's, Ultra2's, Ultra60's etc..) but I'm very lost
with FC-AL.. Any chance the Hitachi FC-AL drives will work in my sb2k? I'd
like to hear from people who have attempted this before (either with or
without success).

Thanks for reading, I will post a summary of answers and I will also send
feedback about what happens when I get the drives.

Regards,
