I am trying to install a PCI dual Ultra-3SCSI card ( LVD ) into an Ultra 5.
When I open up the
ULtra5 , I note that the PCI riser board does not have any slots that
appear suitable for this
card ( part no. X6758A ) - the three slots presnt are short - i.e. when I
insert the card into any
one of the slots , then their is a 'spare' group of connectors on the PCI
card which are not
connected.
Whilst I appreciate that use of the X6758A is not formally supported on th
Ultra5 , does
anyone out their know the following :
Can a PCI riser board be installed into the Ultra5 which will support the
X6758A card ?
Am I also right in thinking that the PCI riser board currently in the Ultra
5 is for us with 32bit
5v devices , and so is not suitable for use with the X6758A ?
This machine is runnonmg a 400MHz processer , by the way
Thanks in advance , I will summarise
