Hiya
I keep getting the following console messages:

Adrian detected slow net(s): Tue May 20 14:16:17 2003
Problem: network failure
State Name Ipkt/s Ierr/s Opkt/s Oerr/s Coll% NoCP/s Defr/s

E4500 running:
SunOS xxxxxx 5.8 Generic_108528-20 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-Enterprise
Patch: 108813-12 Obsoletes: Requires: Incompatibles: Packages: SUNWged

I have tried 4 different fibre cables, 2 different ge cards, 3 different
switch ports.

I have another E4500 with the same model ge card, same switch. This one is
running 108813-04 and 105828-14. It occasionally gets errors, but not nearly
as consistently, and only under much higher traffic load:
Adrian detected slow net(s): Tue May 20 12:03:32 2003

black ge0 6635.7 0.3 7918.6 0.0 0.00 0.00 0.00

I upgraded the first one to its current patch levels in an attempt to cure
NFS hanging problems. The ierrors were also happening at the older patch
levels.

Where do I go now? I'm pulling my hair out! Is it possible that the fibres
are "incompatible" with the GBICs in the switches and the GE card?

Thanks
Steven
