Hi
I have an aging Ultra-10 running Solaris 5.6.
Machine works well but I have a creeping disk problem.
Over a period of time I have been moving stuff out of the root partition
as it keeps filling.
NOTICE: alloc: /: file system full
For some strange reason the /dev folder keeps growing.
I have done an ls -al and nothing shows up as being particularly big.
Most of the stuff is linked files anyway. DU shows the largest is md at
1130k
but du -sk shows:
67347
ie 67Mb :-( given that the root partition is only 100Mb, no wonder it
keeps filling.
Can I optimise the /dev folder is some way?
I have tried boot -r, fsck in single user mode but it did not make any
difference.
Anyone have any ideas, I am really stuck in on this.
TIA
Jon Harris
