Hi

I'd like to create a mini-root image of a solaris install CD for net
booting which could then be used to install Solaris 8 fully (using a
.flar archive and an http server).

The intention is to use an OpenBSD laptop as net boot server. This
could be moved from subnet to subnet, while our collection of standard
build .flar archives could sit on a large central server http server
anywhere on the network.

Unfortunately all I can find on the web is instructions on configuring
solaris-on-sparc jumpstart servers, which isn't suffificently flexible
for this purpose, or linux-on-intel jumpstart laptops with nfs exports
for the filesystem. Is it possible to create a single mini-root image
and use that? If so, how?

Naturally I'll summarise, after testing.

Thanks in anticipation
