I'm trying to install Solaris 8 on an Ultra 5 via console access.
I'm successfully hooked up via null modem, but "boot cdrom" gives me
(alternately)
> short read 0x2000 chars read
> short read 0x2000 chars read
> Fast Data Access MMU MISS
or and just:
> Fast Data Access MMU MISS
Google advises both:
> ok limit-ecache-size
and
> ok set limit-ecache-size
>
Both of which alternately yeild:
> Unimplemented action #1 on object (fffde280) , whos maximum action #
> is -1
and then
> Fast Instruction Access MMU miss
..After this, "boot cdrom" results in
> Short read. 0x200 chars read
> Short read. 0x200 chars read
> Short read. 0x200 chars read
> Short read. 0x200 chars read
> Short read. 0x200 chars read
> Short read. 0x200 chars read
> ...
