Summary of responses to my call for recommendations on SourceDirect:
One guy called me a "Poor Soul" for even looking, and then had a
colleague inform me that only HP is authorized to do HP software
support. I think they were schill's for HP to be honest.
Someone else looked at SourceDirect, and had them in to diagnose a
"test" problem, and were very impressed. Sadly, their boss went with
yet another third party who was cheaper but not as good. CSU is the
name, and we looked at them a while ago and dismissed the idea as a bad
one.
Another person has yet another third party, "Atlantic" and are none too
pleased. He was kind enough to share tips on negotiating a contract
though.
Someone said simply "It is good company...I recommend Source Direct."
but has not responded to my request for elaboration.
But the most significant response came from an ex HP employee who
confirmed my suspicions about HP support going to heck in a handbasket,
and said SourceDirect was populated with ex-HPers and provided the same
great service HP used to.

We are increasingly struggling with HP's support and the complexity of
their contract system, and so when we were approached by a third party
vendor who claims to be able to do all our HP hardware AND software
support, we were intrigued.
Has anyone out there done any business with an outfit called
"SourceDirect"? Any recommendations or horror stories to report?
