Yes, we are using X-Windows XDMCP to log in.
Of course, removing the line or changing respawn with off would stop the message, but that's not an option.
The issue came after I modified the entry in inittab and killed the daemon, and restarted it manually. Running "init q" would be the right way to restart the daemon.
The message has stopped after the system reboot.

The messages come repeatedly every 5 minutes or so. I found no related message/error in syslog. Last line of the inittab file looks like this: xd:234:respawn:/opt/hpxt/enware2/xdm/xdm -nodaemon -config /opt/hpxt/enware2/xdm/xdm-config < /dev/null > /dev/null 2>&1
Can anybody tell me what's wrong with my server, and how to fix it?
