A while ago I had a problem where I wanted to send a textfile as an
attachment via email to a user (from a non-root user).
I solved this problem by using the following command:
cat $FILEIN |ux2dos |uuencode $FILEOUT |mailx -s"Your Report: $FILEOUT"
username@domain.com
This sends a blank email with the file "$FILEOUT" as an attachment to
the email, which was exactly what I wanted to accomplish.
This worked perfectly until this past weekend when our exchange
administrator upgraded to SP2.
Now the uuencoded text comes across in the body of the email instead of
as an attachment.
