OK, so my morning continues. I did not ask my question correctly.
I have a few web services and automated FTP scripts that put files on
this HPUX server.
When these users/scripts/services do this, the current default
permission of the files is rw-r--r-- and therefore when another "actual"
user on that HPUX box then needs to run a process and edit or move that
file, they cannot because they do not have the correct permission.
So I need the default permission to be: rw-rw-rw

OK, I am having one of THOSE days. How do I set the umask on a user's
log-in so that when they FTP files to this server the permissions are
set to rw-rw-rw- ???
I know this is easy - I am being stupid today!!
TIA
Sincerely
Roger
