The concensus was that it isn't really needed and can be turned off. One
thing I do wonder about - I noticed this daemon running at about 1-2% of CPU
while I was doing some copying using fbackup/frestore. Perhaps these
utilities rely on the pwgrd daemon to speed themselves along?

Ok, what exactly is this used for and do I really need to be running it?
Seems to be on by default in 11.x. Thanks in advance!
