Have any one successfully buid R ( <http://www.r-project.org/>
http://www.r-project.org/)? I'm trying to build it on our Itanium based
server but keep running into the Fortran error:

checking how to get verbose linking output from g95... configure: WARNING:
compilation failed
checking for Fortran libraries of g95...
checking how to get verbose linking output from cc... -v
checking for C libraries of cc... -link_type -L/usr/local/lib
checking for dummy main to link with Fortran libraries... none
checking for Fortran name-mangling scheme... configure: error: cannot
compile a
simple Fortran program
See `config.log' for more details.

I've installed the free version of G95 from http://www.g95.org
<http://www.g95.org> . Fotran is required for building R.

I even tried building one on a PA-RISC-based server using f2c as suggested
by R and got the same result. Any suggestions are appreciated.
