Dear Admins
I have a HP C240 workstation which has been shutting down by itself
intermittently over the last month. Upon pressing
the power button to turn it on again I get the LED flashing the following
repeating sequence.
LED 4 3 2 1
on on on on
off on on on
off off off off
and a gasping/whirling sound but it doesn't boot. This LED flashing
sequence is not in the user manual.
I would turn it off and on several times and eventually if I leave it
off long enough and then turn it on it boots up and runs fine.
After one shutdown, I wasn't even able to get the LED lights flashing
so I thought it may be a faulty power supply. I wish I could just stick
another power supply in there to test my theory but a new power supply
will cost $1000 which I don't want to spend unless I'm 100% sure
that is the fault.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
