All,
thanks lots to all those who replied.
Solution to this was that it was an old socket file (should have disappeared
after measureware was shutdown) so I didn't need to move it over to the new
filesystem. (thanks Alex Vinson & Ilic R)
Still don't know whether its actually possible to move socket files or not
but prob shouldn't ever need to.
Thanks!
Kev.

Missed an important detail, I'm moving it into a new filesystem, when I
do an mv I get:
mv: .perflbd.socket: can't move sockets across file systems

Subject: [HPADM] Socket file - moving/copying/recreating?
Guys,
I need to move a socket file, in particular
/var/opt/perf/datafiles/.perflbd.socket but standard mv and cp etc don't
work. It comes up as srwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 0 Apr 20 03:20
.perflbd.socket in an 'ls -al'
Anyone any ideas on how I could do this? If I could copy it or just
recreate it and delete the old one that would be cool too.
thanks in advance,
Kevin.
