Hi all,

We perform backups from our UNIX-Systems with DataProtector Ver A.05.10,
actually installed on a WIN2003 server. The main application on the unix
box is stopped and restarted for the backup with pre.- and postexec
script entry ( OK for the normal situation) .
Problems during backup, due by occurrences like asking for a tape change
o.e. should be handled as follows:

1) cancel the backup
2) test if application is fully stopped
3) execute the normal postexec script

Step 1 ,2, 3 should run if the following query reply <> 0 at a time
where the backup has usually finished
ps -ef | grep /opt/omni/lbin | grep -v grep | wc -l

Is it possible to cancel the pending backup from the Unix client by
killing the OMNIBACK processes "bma" and "vbda" ?

Thanks for any reply !

Paul
