[HPADM] Backup of NFS mounted dir too slow - OminBack/Oracle RAC/SG

Hi Admins,

We have a system with Service Guard, Oracle 9i RAC and the backup tool
Omniback 4.1. As per the Oracle RAC setup the archive logs of the second
system is NFS exported to the primary one (cell manager). The archive
log size is increasing day by day and the current size is around 61GB.

Last week, it took more than two days to finish the weekly backup - too
slow.

Can anyone please suggest how we can increase the performance of the
Omniback and is there any alternate design related to the current setup.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions about the correct backup/restore
procedure using Oracle 9i RMAN with Omniback. At present, we are
doubtful about the status of the backup as to whether we will be able to
restore in case of a system crash.

System:
HP-UX 11.00
Oracle 9i
Service Guard 11.13
OmniBack 4.10

Thanks
Rasheed..
