I have an HP9000 D390 server (althought LED says D380?)
and it's attached to an HP Disk Array (which I believe to be an HP-badged
NIKE array) - model V20.
This has model no. A3550AZ.
The problem we are having is with connecting the tape array so the disks
become visible.
There are 2 A4107 FWD Scsi controllers inside the server and no matter which
able or ccontroller we attach the disk array to - we cannot see the A3550AZ
disk array.
We have tried several reboots including recycling the power.
We have even tried daisy-chaining the A3550AZ disk array onto the working
external scsi fwd dlt tape drive.
I have moved the termination jumpers on the currently unused A4107 scsi
controller ( bottom one of the two) - and have attached the disk array but
still will not recognise the disk array
I feel the problem could be either the lack of necessary kernel device
drivers for the disk array or an incompatibility with Fast Wide SCSI and
Fast Wide Differential SCSI becase it isn't always obvious which type is
which. Another thought that sprung to mind is the layout of the disks within
the array.
Anyone out there with any ideas or a similar "set-up" - Also the server is
running 10.20 which I know is very out of date.
