Thanks to all who responded so quickly. In reading one of the responses, it
occurred to me that I should have looked on the ITRC Knowledge base first
for this info. Well, I went to the ITRC and found exactly what I was
looking for.
In fact it is entitled, "How To Prevent Creation of Files in
/var/spool/sockets/pwgr".
Here is the direct link to the document:
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=2000
00068401720
It is document id: KBRC00012276 and is dated 4/24/03.
Thanks again to all who responded. Learned something new today about this
beast called HP-UX.

Subject: [HPADM] What is the /var/spool/sockets/pwgr directory?
What is the /var/spool/sockets/pwgr directory used for?
I have several 11.0 systems that have this directory that fills up with 0
byte sized files that are named "clientnnnnn", the "n"'s are a sequence of
numbers. What creates these files?
Thanks
