Hi all,
Thanks for the responses to solve the problem. The solution is
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The profile is not sourced when you use X. You can create a file:
/etc/dt/config/C/sys.resources
In the file place a line:
*loginShell: true
Save the file and do a chown root:sys and chmpd 444 to the file. This will cause ALL users to source their .profile and therefore the /etc/profile.

Subject: [HPADM] /etc/profile running problem
Hi All,
I am facing one problem in profile running. I have added few
alias in the /etc/profile file. When i connect through telnet to system,
then all these aliases work. But when i use the x-windows client
(X-manager) for sytem session, the profile does not run. We have to run
it manually to make aliases effective.
Does the /etc/profile does not run in x-windows?
Regards,
rajwinder
