Hello,

This week after the slammer attacks were over, I had a weird problem on
my HP-UX 11.0 server.. it would no longer allow telnet

logons.. I would stop and start inetd, and when a user tried to logon
via telnet a session would open, but no logon prompt would

appear. I had to reboot the machine to fix the problem.

I assume that I ran out of ports..

Is there a way to free up 'used' ports that aren't actually being used?

thanks so much for your help...
