Hi

Original Ques:

Can somebody confirm these generalisations/rules about disk arrays and
ports

A single XP/HDS FC (switched) 1Gbs port can only support about a single
TB - true/false?
A single XP/HDS FC (switched) 1Gbs port can only support 256 LUNS -
true/false? - it also contradicts the previous

Replies general Consensus was
"Not sure about A, it may be a Hitachi thing".- Yes, and it appears to a
generalisation with no real basis because it could be simply contradicted
by the LUN size.

256 LUN limit - Yes this is hard limit for HDS 9900, EMC & XP215

Thanks to - Tom Myers & John Adams

Jim McDonald
