[HPADM] SUMMARY - Adding Processors to N Class

Lots of good replies ranging from:

Plug and play. May need a little kernel tuning afterward.

Adding additional CPUs yourself isnt a problem. You should be able to do
that no problem.

We have hp do it. There is a potential back plane upgrade required, firmware
upgrades and for each 2 cpus, (If you are adding more cpu's) there is
another part (basically power related) whose name escapes now, that is

Boot up and everything should work. Note: if you
have third party software that is licensed for a specific number of CPUs,
you will need to get a new license(s).

As long as you are simply adding processors of the same
speed, it is a simple matter of installing Proc Support Modules, and
adding the processors in the correct order. Remember you MUST have 1x
PSM for every 2x Proc's
