[HPADM] Configuring serial heartbeat for Service Guard

Hi All,
I am trying to build a test service guard cluster on 2 D class servers.

I have just found out from a previous mailing that using vganylan on hpux
V 11i is a waste of time.

When I run cqmuerycl I get the following:

python > cmquerycl -C test_package.ascii -n sdhu001a -n sdhu012a

Node Names: sdhu001a
               sdhu012a

Bridged networks:

1 lan0 (sdhu001a)

2 lan0 (sdhu012a)

IP subnets:

159.239.24.0 lan0 (sdhu001a)
                       lan0 (sdhu012a)

Possible Heartbeat IPs:

159.239.24.0 159.239.24.89 (sdhu001a)
                                  159.239.25.50 (sdhu012a)

Possible Cluster Lock Devices:

/dev/dsk/c1t4d0 /dev/vgpackage 30 seconds

LVM volume groups:

/dev/vg00 sdhu001a

/dev/vgpackage sdhu001a
                        sdhu012a

/dev/vg00 sdhu012a

Warning: Failed to find a configuration that satisfies the minimum network
configuration requirements.

Minimum network configuration requirements are:
 - 2 or more heartbeat networks OR
 - 1 heartbeat network with local switch (HP-UX Only) OR
 - 1 heartbeat network using APA with 2 trunk members (HP-UX Only) OR

 - 1 heartbeat network with serial line (HP-UX Only) OR

 - 1 heartbeat network using bonding (mode 1) with 2 slaves (Linux Only)
python >

I assume I can use a serial cable to provide the redundant heartbeat.
Has anyone done this and can they provide details as to the type of serial
cable?
I also assume I should be using the Serial 2 port.

regards.

Julian
