one interface - 10.10.10.100 (was working)

Default Gateway - 10.10.10.1

I want to configure another interface

Second one - 10.10.10.200 ( same subnet )

Can this be done ?

i thought it can be dont so i gave the command

ifconfig lan2 10.10.10.200 netmask 255.255.255.0

imdlty the other interface 10.10.10.100 stopped
pinging and the system gone out of network

What is going wrong ?

TIA
