Hello admins,
I was wondering if you could help me understand the memory readings?

>From the top command I get this:
Memory: 512764K (187456K) real, 1325364K (896916K) virtual, 50044K free

When I run the swapinfo -t command I get this:
Kb Kb Kb PCT START/ Kb
TYPE AVAIL USED FREE USED LIMIT RESERVE PRI NAME
dev 1048576 279020 769556 27% 0 - 1 /dev/vg00/lvol2
dev 1048576 0 1048576 0% 0 - 2 /dev/vg00/lvol9
reserve - 1218240 -1218240
memory 1568936 1286056 282880 82%
total 3666088 2783316 882772 76% - 0 -

Why don't they match? I see 50044K free from the top command and I see 282880K free from the swapinfo command.

Plus I have 2GB of ram in the system but if you look at the memory AVAIL column it only has 1568936 which is a little over 1.5GB, why is that?

In SAM and when the system boots it sees all the memory in the system.

TIA
Tom
