For AIX you can use mksysb which comes with every AIX system. It provides
the ability to backup rootvg onto bootable media. If you need more
functionality you need to look at Sysback, an additional cost item.
Solaris has no equivalent that I'm aware of.

I just inherited some AIX and Solaris boxes. I am hoping someone might
know if there is something like IGNITE for either of these.
