I have searched the archives and found this post by Stuart Abramson but no
followup summary:

hpux-admin:

Has anyone put Veritas NetBackup in an MC/ServiceGuard cluster,
where the Veritas NetBackup server was also the "media server" and we want
the whole thing to fail over to the alternate node (the tape drives are
connected to a brocade switch which is accessible to both nodes).?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have a similar configuration ... our Netbackup sever is both a master and
media server, and there are other Netbackup media servers on the tape SAN. The
Netbackup master/media server is in an HA cluster, and controls the robotics on
the tape library. The tape drives are seen from
all servers on the tape SAN.
I am attempting to write a script to run on the primary node using the "st"
command to reclaim a shared tape device or shared library robotic device in the
event the primary host fails while holding a reservation on the shared device,
or if a given media server holds the reserve.
Any tips or reccommendations would be appreciated.

TIA
