Many thanks to all that responded. Most respondants recommended using
ghostscript which would be a fine solution for converting postscript to pdf
from the command line or using a script. Unfortunately, our users are
accustomed to the "Watched directory" feature under Acrobat which allows you
to simply move a file to a predetermined directory and it is automatically
converted to pdf. Certainly a script could be written using ghostscript to
perform this same function. However, thanks to a couple of respondants I was
assured that Acrobat 3.0 would run fine under HPUX 11. I've installed
Acrobat and Distiller and they appear to be working fine.
