Hi All,
I've just finished creating a 106GB logical disk. It is made from 3 x 36GB
disks on a FC1010D (FC)array. I stripped the Logical Volume in 4MB chunks
across the 3 disks. There is a total of 26043 PE for this Logical Volume
(26043 x 4MB = 104GB)
The stripping process took around 36 hours, is this acceptable?
After each 4MB is added to the Logical Volume I print it out how many 4MB
chunks have been processed, like a counter. When the process starts off to
create the stripping the 4MB counter in updated quickly but when the LV
creation gets to around 80GB, the updating of the counter (to the stdout)
slows considerably. Why is there a slowing of the Logical Volume creation?
