dear subscribers,
reluctantly i have taken steps to 'close' the 'hpux-admin' mailing list
in an effort to combat the recent flood of 'spam' type messages as well
as messages containing a virus (mostly from non-subscribers).
Last Saturday evening (local time) i was able to intercept two 'KLEZ'
infected messages in the course of just 30 minutes !.
Effective immediately, only subscribers will be able to post messages to
the list. Meaning: your return/reply address should match (barring case)
your subscription address.
This will also help in 'breaking' mail-loops arising from messages sent by
virus scanning software that is not 'mailing list smart'. Those messages
are sent back to the whole list in stead of the list owner ...
