you should first determine what is using this memory

f.e. is aix using more filecache?

post

svmon
svmon -P -t5 -u | grep -p Pid

for 32 and 64bit kernel and we will have more useful info

Subject: 32bit vs. 64bit memory usage

We recently changed to and booted a 64bit kernel on an AIX 5.2
box (p630).

Once the application is up, we have approx. 4.5GB memory in use.

If we switch back to 32bit, and bring the app up, We have
approx. 5.1GB in use, or 11% more....

We are running the same amount of processes.,and have gone back
and forth a couple of times to confirm the numbers...

Can anyone offer an explanation on the memory savings?

        Thanks.
