problems about configure the ssa disk
host model F50 has one ssa adapter, AIX 5.1, one 7133 D40
i have made the following connections :
A1 ----> J9
A2 ----> J12
#lsdev -Cc pdisk
pdisk7 Available 1A-08-F3B9-09-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk8 Available 1A-08-F3B9-10-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk9 Available 1A-08-F3B9-11-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk10 Available 1A-08-F3B9-12-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
Now i want to add another 4 disks to the hosts, So i change the connection:
A1 ---->J9
A2 ---->J16
Then i run "cfgmgr -vl ssa0', but no more pdisks was recognized by the
host.
# lsdev -Cc adapter | grep ssa
ssa0 Available 1A-08 IBM SSA 160 SerialRAID Adapter (14109100)
# cfgmgr -vl ssa0
#cfgmgr -vl ssa0

#lsdev -Cc pdisk

pdisk9 Available 1A-08-F3B9-11-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk10 Available 1A-08-F3B9-12-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
But when i execute "cfgmgr -v", the another 4 disks were found.
#cfgmgr -v
#lsdev -Cc pdisk
pdisk7 Available 1A-08-F3B9-09-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk8 Available 1A-08-F3B9-10-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk9 Available 1A-08-F3B9-11-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk10 Available 1A-08-F3B9-12-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk11 Available 1A-08-F3B9-13-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk12 Available 1A-08-F3B9-14-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk13 Available 1A-08-F3B9-15-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
pdisk14 Available 1A-08-F3B9-16-P SSA160 Physical Disk Drive
I think "cfgmgr -vl ssa0" can save more time while configuring the ssa
disks, But it doesn't work .
Why ?
