I didn't have any problems with it, really. I/O
performance seemed marginally faster (we had a few
systems that actually used swap).

I wouldn't run it on any AIX 4.3.3 machine -- only
because you can't run swapoff if you want to move it
off the Shark (unless you left that Shark disk in the
same VG as a non-Shark disk).

I know that prices are coming down, but I would
probably opt to put all my swap on internal drives, if
I could. You can get p650s with 140ish GB internal
drives, which (even with a mirrored hd6) ought to be
sufficient for 99% of the systems.
