AIX 5.2 preservation install

On an AIX 5.2 preservation install (from AIX 4.3.3),
do the Java 1.2.2, Java 1.3.0, and Java 1.3.1 filesets
(you know, JDK/JRE) get wiped out and have to be
reinstalled? Or are they upgraded/maintained as well?
