Yeah; I tried it on a 6M1 myself, with the same results.

I thought that had actually been taken care of with the 64-bit kernel.
Evidently not. I can only assume that there's some compatibility issue with
older hardware, so they're holding off on fixing it. The current hardware
should be up to the job, so it's just a matter of waiting until the 32-bit
kit is obsolete. Under the circumstances they can afford to wait for a
decade to fix things.
