If you have sendmail running, port 25 has to be open. Stop sendmail and port 25 will be closed.

Can someone point me in the write direction as to how I would easily disallow telnet to port 25, but still allow telnet to port 23?
I.e. I don't want to be able to telnet to port 25 and send mail, but I still want to run sendmail, and allow telnet... or am I looking at this wrong? Thanks.
