I update the spot with the device support for the gbit network card. Still the same.

Instead of pulling from the client, i pushed the installation from the master. And it is working. Perhaps the console is going elsewhere, but i don't know how to check this. The server is thousands of miles away and I'm connected to the server using remote console.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

best regards.

I had one 608 problem, where the device fileset that supported the NIC in
the p630 was not in the spot...

Is it possible the console is going elsewhere?

I had a similar problem on p670, thought the box had hung, but was able to
ping and ssh to it. Doing chcons fixed.

Hi all,

Does anyone has any experience in installing 6C4 via nim with AIX520-01?

I has been a frustrating 3 days, and it still failed. The the /tftpboot
contains directory listing;

-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 8093236 Oct 23 10:49
aix520_spot.chrp.mp.ent
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 36 Nov 06 11:34 mla0042 ->
/tftpboot/aix520_spot.chrp.mp.ent
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 1149 Nov 06 11:34 mla0042.info

The /etc/tftpboot entry;
mla0042:bf=/tftpboot/mla0042:ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:ht=ethernet:sa=xxx.xxx.xxx.x
xx:gw=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:sm=255.255.255.224:

The resources directories are exported, and resources are allocated.

It seems to hung at this screen; (the led display shows 608) The tftpboot
log shows that the boot file transfer was successfull.

Pleaseeeeee help.
