Well.. There actually is one way that _might_ work.
Note: there are a lot of if statements in the following
Note: lmigratelv is the command internal to the migratepv script.
#include <std-disclaimer.h>
if (( stripe size == PE size ) &&
( you know which PE's contain the parity ) &&
( you can map a raid PE to an PV PE ) &&
( you can figure out how to use lmigratelv ) &&
( you are extremely confident )) {
You can shift PE's around to your hearts content
} else {
nope.
}
Sorry for writing it in pseudo-code. I've been hacking a lot lately.
Chris.

You can't.

Hai All,
We have 5 Hard disks in RAID 5 on P620 Machine.
I want to create two lvs, one for Oracle REDO Logs and Other for Oracle Archive Logs. I want to place these two LVS on two separate physical hard disks. But because of RAID 5 of all the available hard disks, I could able to see only one physical volume at AIX level.
Please tell me whether can I allocate specific hard disk out of RAID to a particular LV?
Regards
G V Raju
