Arthur:
You should run smbpasswd from the Unix side (AIX).
You'll need to use the username of a domain administrator in the "-U" flag (and his/her password)
Hope this helps

Ignacio

Just "add" the AIX server as a member server for the domain (smbpasswd -j <domain name> -U <administrative user for this domain>)

Do I run this on the AIX server that samba installed? Or on the Windows PDC.

I am getting a little confused by the documentation which says :

The first step is to add the Samba server to the domain by creating a computer account for it on the primary domain controller. You can do this using the smbpasswd command, as follows:
# smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDCNAME -Uadmin_acct%password
Perhaps you can clarify?

Yours, confused and wishing he could just use NFS,
