Are you 64 bit?
Apparently, you need to Config your Box to be both 32 and 64 bit.
The problem was that sysback, and apparently mksysb as well, require 32bit
libraries. The fix was to set OBJECT_MODE=32_64, as opposed to
OBJECT_MODE=64 which it was originally set at. This applied to sysback 5.5
and 5.6. I did this only for the root user, not all users.

Did any of out there experienced a problem running mksysb on AIX 5.2 ML1. I
am getting the following error :
# mksysb -iX /dev/rmt0
Creating information file (/image.data) for rootvg...
Creating tape boot image................ar: 0707-109 Member name shr.o does

exist.
ar: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
ar: 0707-117 The fopen system call failed on file shr.o.
0512-021 mksysb: Attempt to create a bootable tape failed:
mkinsttape /dev/rmt0.1 failed with return code 7.
I am not sure but I remember that the mksysb used to work. the only think
change on this system is we Installed Oracle 9i. I updated the system with
the latest filesets for the libraries and the Kernel but still not working.
Any ideas.
