Hi *,

you can find some information in the 'SSA Adapters User and Maintenance
Information' on the following site:

http://www.storage.ibm.com/hardsoft/products/ssa/docs/index.html

When go to the link from your adapter (for example 6230) you can find some
information about SSA Error Logs in chapter 6

Best regards,
Frank Mueller

Does anyone have a definitive link to the various definitions of error
report messages, specifically:

        DISK_ERR1
        DISK_ERR2
        DISK_ERR3
        DISK_ERR4

I'm told by IBM support that the 1 and 3 errors are merely notices that the
disk took some action (such as retiring a sector) and 2 and 4 errors are
truly dangerous. Anyone have a link to documentation that explains exactly
what each is? My searching doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere.

Many thanks!
