Hi Khalid,

This is not really a question of keyboard mapping, but a question of
terminal settings (see termcap/terminfo). The most used terminal is vt100,
for telnet connections, and it should be used for SSH connections too. I
sugest you to try using PuTTY telnet client (which supports SSH and SSH2
either). It´s freeware, emulates vt100, vt220 and many other terminal
settings and downloads can be made from here:

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

With this client, you will be able to use FUNCTION Keys. Atempt for
backspace. The default terminal setting for backspace on Putty is ^H (AIX
uses ^?). You can change it on Putty settings.

Best Regards,

Alexandre Kazuo Sato.

        Subject: keyboard mapping

Hi all,

AIX 4.3.3 on IBM 7026-6M1

We expect tu use ssh instead of telnet, ftp, rlogin and rsh. I installed
the server, downloaded the ss client 3.2.5 (free from ssh communications
security) and i am doing some tests before deploying it in my compnay. I
have some problems with the function keys when i connect to aix (the F
keys don't work while using smit, cicsterm...).

Should i customize the keyboard map file ? if so, could someone help me
please, i am not familiarized with keyboard mapping.

Thank you in advance.
