many syslog errors for lft0 following graphics card installation AIX 5.1 p630

I have recently been assigned a new server to administer and have noticed
the
following error appearing frequently (every few minutes or so) in the syslog

Mar 27 11:12:55 viper tsm: /dev/lft0: 3004-028 - dup failed. OUTFD != -1

Tracking back on system changes, a graphics card was installed in the p630
server at around this date/time. The server also runs tsm client software
for
backups although I cannot be certain that the 'tsm' in the error actually
refers
to the backup software.

Does anyone have any insight into what is causing this error message.

The server runs AIX 5.1.
The console is defined as /dev/lft0.
There is no dumb terminal attached as tty0 although the server did
have one connected when it was originally delivered.
/etc/inittab has respawn of tty0 disabled.

thanks
