Greeting,

I want to configure an Ethernet interface on my sp2 thin node:
#lscfg |grep ent
+ ent0 00-03 Ethernet High-Performance LAN
                                      Adapter (8ef5)
using smit tcpip:

Type or select values in entry fields.
Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

                                                        [Entry Fields]
* HOSTNAME [julie]
* Internet ADDRESS (dotted decimal) [10.10.1.133]
  Network MASK (dotted decimal) [255.255.255.0]
* Network INTERFACE et0
  NAMESERVER
           Internet ADDRESS (dotted decimal) [10.10.10.70]
           DOMAIN Name []
  Default GATEWAY Address [10.10.1.1]
  (dotted decimal or symbolic name)
  Your CABLE Type N/A
+
  START Now no

I can ping 10.10.1.133, not 10.10.1.1.

Question1: The Ethernet card have two interfaces. One link to Control
Workstation and I use the free one. - does the card do have two interfaces
can be use? Or only one at a time?

Question2: If the second AUI can be use, am I choice the right interface et0
or cable type? (I use a cat5 cable to link it to my cisco box)

Question3: this is most possible - am I did anything wrong on configuration?
Is not, am I missing any step ?

Any comments will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Julie Xu
