Hi all. Probably stupid question, but here goes
anyway.
AIX 4.3.3, ML09
Trying to add a 4mm tape drive (model 7206-220, 20 gb)
to a 43P. My only 4mm tape drive type choices are
4mm2gb scsi 2.0 GB 4mm Tape Drive
4mm2gb2 scsi 2.0 GB 4mm Tape Drive
4mm4gb scsi 4.0 GB 4mm Tape Drive
None of which seem to work. I get
Method error (/etc/methods/cfgsctape):
0514-051 Device to be configured does
not match the physical device at the
specified connection location.
I've found the spec sheet for this model tape drive,
says it is suppored at 4.3. IBM's Tape Help Package
site
(http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/server/mdownload/tapewhdr.html)
also says it's a supported device at 4.1.5 or later.
So what gives? My devices.scsi.tape.rte is at
4.3.3.10. Do I need something later that that, or am
I just going about this all wrong?
Thanks for your help
TL.
