What we are trying to resolve is the backup performance.

Attached to this server is a StorageTek 9714 tape library with 6 DLT
7000 using 4 PCI Differential Ultra SCSI card.
The throughput capacity of the drives is 5 to 6 Mb/s, but when the FULL
backups runs, we are only getting 2 to 3 MB/s.

depends on what you mean. you going to do etherchannel bonding, or
failover? or just two ip addresses? certainly, there's nothing wrong
with setting up two ip addresses, but you might want to make sure ip
routing is turned off if you do.

Subject: Dual NICs

Good morning,

We have a RS/6000 7025 F50+ with the following specs:
2 Way PowerPC 604 332 MHz processor
2 Gb RAM

We are using this as our backup server for Legato Networker,
application and Oracle database server.

Does anybody has an experience in using/setting this server using dual
NIC cards? is there any risk involved? or is it possible to configure
this server with 2 NICs?

TIA,
