Look at /etc/security/limits and /etc/security/olimits if
users have different settings.

Subject: gui smit core dumps only for certain users

Hi all.

AIX 4.3.3, ML09

Recently upgraded from 4.3.2 to 4.3.3 ml09. I've
found two user id's that will core dump when trying to
start the gui smit interface. I get

   Segmentation fault (coredump)

and an entry in the errpt.

However, other users can start gui smit ok. Same box,
just different user.

What could it be that is set differently for these two
users that would cause the problem? Prior to upgrade,
these two users could start gui smit with no problem.

Thanks for your help.
