How do I know if I have a 32 bit or 64 bit previous installation?
Is there a command to know that?

Just did it yesterday. No problems with the migration. It went from 4.3.3 to
5.1 ML03 and no confilcting fileset problems. Complete install or upgrade
would depend upon the data you want to keep. It can always be restored, but
your system customizations would obviously be lost on a new installation.
The migration (or upgrade) to 5.1 will tell you what files it's going to
delete, like files in /tmp and a few others. Some files, it will just move
out of the way to a different directory. The migration install will tell you
all of this before you begin. You'll want to pick a 32 or 64bit enabled
system and JFS or JFS2 for the root directory if you choose 64bit. It's
really very simple and it certainly doesn't leave your system in shambles
where you have a ton of cleanup work afterwards. In my opinion it's a lot
easier then a Windoze upgrade (no telling what type of a system you'll have
when your finished).

Regards,
Darryl

I've walked/talked a dozen customers through upgrades to 4.3.3 by phone.
Tomorrow's my first 5.1. Any major differences I should be aware of?
